A heart for their Country

I have been blown away by the young believers in the Dhakbari Church . This is the church we have been partnering with for over 16 years!! Their faith is so strong. Their love and desire to not only teach current believers but reach non-believers is incomprehensible in my American mind. For instance, I was chatting with some young men today and asked them about a recent mission trip they went on. They were very humble and I had to gently pull the story out of them. But here it is, 10 of them walked… for 2 weeks… to pray.  Whoa, whoa, whoa, what? These young men walked for 2 weeks, not knowing where they would sleep, get water or get food. They walked with limited supplies, while getting rained on. They walked in remote valleys and the sides of massive mountains where roads are often washed away or covered in landslides. Their purpose was to walk to a very remote village near the Tibetan border that was void of believers, and they would pray. They prayed for a foothold so that they could come back in the future and share the story of Jesus. And I have no doubt that they did this joyfully. I have spent much of my day blown away by this story. These young men are half of my age but I have so much to learn from them and their child like faith. I couldn’t imagine hearing of such a story in the U.S. This church is amazing, these people burn with the desire to share Jesus. It is a blessing to call them my friends.
